The controlled substance charge is for a substance other than marijuana, according to police. In Texas, the unlawful carrying of a weapon is a Class A misdemeanor, according to Fox News
This is the second arrest for Williams in 2023. In January, he turned himself in to the police in the Dallas suburb of Plano for driving recklessly following an accident in December 2022, The AP noted.
Williams reportedly crashed his Corvette into a vehicle driven by a 71-year-old woman just days before Christmas near the Cowboys’ headquarters in Frisco. Williams and the woman were reportedly not seriously injured in the crash. Williams missed one game following the wreck, suffering from a concussion and minor neck injuries, The AP noted.
